BBC viewers were in hysterics this week after spotting a newsreader wearing short shorts while presenting live on air.
Shaun Ley, 51, was presenting the news bulletin on Wednesday evening - aka the hottest day of the year - when social media users spotted something unusual about his attire.
Although he appeared to be wearing his usual shirt, tie and jacket, viewers noticed that below the desk Shaun was dressed very informally indeed.

And we don't blame him tbh! After all, it's been so warm this week.
Viewers were cracking up at Shaun's casual new look, with one person tweeting: "Is #ShaunLey wearing shorts!!?"
While another added: "Shaun Ley on the BBC is wearing shorts and trainers under his suit rn LOOOOOOOOL the cameraman accidentally panned past his desk from the side."
And a third wrote: "Is BBC news reader Shaun Ley keeping his cool by wearing shorts? And if so, were viewers meant to find out?"
"Still can't believe Shaun Ley was presenting BBC News last night while wearing shorts with his jacket and tie!" Said a fourth.

"Why was Shaun Ley wearing shorts on the Papers tonight at 10.30 on the news channel He definitely wasn't wearing the trousers that matched his jacket!"
Shaun can be seen in the shorts in a series of photos shared on Twitter - including one in which he appeared to be interviewing guest via video call.
We can't stop laughing at this!
Shaun hasn't said anything about his unusual wardrobe choice, but as the warm weather continues into next week, we wonder if the more casual look will continue?

As one person pointed out: "It's only what everyone's been doing for the past year on their zoom call."
So true!
But Shaun isn't the only one to be sporting short shorts this week. Returning to the America's Got Talent stage this week, a usually very formal Simon Cowell could also be seen showing off a casual new look, too!
