GBBO Viewers Furious At Paul Hollywood For Breaking 'Hollywood Handshake Rule'

The Great British Bake Off fans were furious with Paul Hollywood last night for awarding three of his Hollywood handshakes to bakers in one show.

The gesture has become known as a top honour for bakers who have really managed to impress Paul, and they used to be a pretty rare occurrence.

However, last night Paul was giving them out all over the shop and fans were not impressed by his flippant award giving.

Paul first gave a handshake in the first round to Dan for his boozy black forest gateaux tray bake.

The judge then gave another handshake to Rahul for his two-tiered chocolate cake in the showstopper.

Only minutes later Paul gave a third handshake to Ruby for her chocolate-orange creation which left the tent in shock.

Even Paul couldn't believe the amount of handshakes he had given out and admitted to the camera that he was disappointed in himself.

He wasn't the only one disappointed as fans took to agree with him and explain that he was 'devaluing' the gesture.

One wrote: "Paul Hollywood has really devalued his handshake #CakeWeek #GBBO"

Another added: "Remember the days when Paul wouldn't shake everyone's hand and it was actually an achievement"

A third user wrote: "Hollywood Handshake dropping in value faster than the pound against the Euro..."

A few other users poked fun at the judge and said: "Paul Hollywood is drunk on his own handshake power isn't he?"

Another also wrote: "Paul Hollywood isn't allowed to give another handshake for the rest of the series after this week's handshakefest, right...? #GBBO"

After his Hollywood handshake Rahul took home star baker but unfortunately Luke was the latest baker to leave the tent.

Last nights episode also upset some viewers after Manon swore whilst chatting to hosts Sandi and Noel.

Manon was struggling with the heat in the tent and while explaining her icing figures to the two hosts she let out a little expletive.

Noel likened the figures to him and Sandi. He asked: "Are these us? Is this Sandi?"

Manon, not cracking a smile, pointed at her little people and said: "Yeah that's you, you're fast asleep."

She then likened the other to Sandi and said: "And that's Sandi f**ked off because you're late."

Noel looked into the camera and announced: "I think she's looking at the wrong script!"
