After a dramatic ending to Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell's time on The Bachelor, the two have made their relationship reunion Instagram official.
Previously, the two had split after Rachael was involved with several racism controversies. Watch the moment Matt explained why he couldn't be with Rachael in the clip below:
However, Rachael has shared her first post of the couple since their reunion on her Instagram account.
The 24-year-old shared pics of the pair, including ones from her weekend trip to New York City and videos of cheesy bagels and feeding squirrels.
Matt also shared a post of the couple along with the caption: "It was a great weekend".
The post comes after Rachael made a public apology for the controversies and shared a video of her on her Instagram sharing antiracism resources and addressing those people who were defending the Bachelor finalist.
Matt and Rachael had separated after photos appeared of Rachael dressed as a Native American at a party, alongside Rachael liking pictures of friends in front of the Confederate flag and in 'Make America Great Again' hats.
An alleged former classmate of Rachael, Maddy Bierster, also made a TikTok featuring images of Rachael and Matt with the caption: "Girlieeeee, remember when you bullied me in high school for liking black guys???".
Most notably, photos of Rachael attending an Antebellum party emerged. "Antebellum" refers to the pre-Civil War Old South period where slavery and plantations were the dominating aspect. Parties around this theme tend to romanticise the aesthetics of the era and ignore the racism that fuelled the period.
The historic Bachelor season already had an eventful finale after Matt gave Rachael the Final Rose over fan-favourite Michelle Young but couldn't bring himself to propose to Rachael. Then, Rachael's racism scandal led Matt to ending the relationship and explaining why on After the Final Rose back in March.
The pair had made contact in April and confirmed their reunion in May.
Matt told the Wall Street Journal Magazine in an interview: "I think the best way to put it is that we can have critical conversations about being in this relationship and what I need in a partner -- especially if that woman isn't Black -- to understand what comes with me and my life and being Black.
"I think it's unfair to leave people without the ability to unlearn and be better."
The couple have been careful to post anything too romantic on social media but Rachael's carousel confirms their current status.
