The main topic of the joke seemed to be focussed on Jada, and her 'boycott' of the 2016 Oscars over lack of diversity.

Responding to the comments at the time, Jada said: "Hey look, it comes with the territory, we gotta keep it moving.

"We got a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff going on in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving."

Reacting to the resurfaced clip in the aftermath of Sunday evening's dramatic events, one person wrote on Twitter: "This has been coming for 6 YEARS."

It all kicked off on Sunday when Chris made a G.I. Jane joke about Jada.

G.I. Jane is an action movie from 1997, where lead actress Demi Moore shaves her head. It seems Chris' joke was in reference to Jada's shaven style, after the 50-year-old recently opened up about her experience with alopecia.

After the joke was made, Will approached Chris on stage and appeared to 'slap' him before walking back to his seat in the audience.

He told Rock: "Keep my wife's name out of your f*cking mouth".

"Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke," replied Rock.
