Fans of the Kardashians have found an interesting detail in an old Instagram post by Tristan Thompson with Kim Kardashian following the news of his paternity test.
The 30-year-old basketball player was named as the father in a paternity lawsuit that was raised by fitness model Maralee Nichols.
While Tristan initially denied the child Maralee has was his, he had admitted to having sex with her during his 30th birthday celebrations in March 2021.
Now, fans of the of the reality TV's biggest family have scrolled all the way back to October 2021 on Tristan's Instagram account when he wished Kim a happy birthday and made a joke about needing a lawyer in the future.
"Happy Birthday to my future lawyer @kimkardashian," Tristan wrote in the post.
He added: "You’ve inspired a whole generation with your hard work, dedication and efforts.
"Soo proud of everything you’ve accomplished and it’s only the beginning. You got this Keeks! Enjoy your day!"
SKIMS entrepreneur Kim is training to be a lawyer and her journey has been featured on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Though she failed the California First-Year Law Students’ Examination - known as the “baby bar” - three times, she finally passed the test in December 2021.
After passing this test, Kim can continue her legal studies and will be able to take the full bar exam and potentially represent Tristan, if he has his way.
After the news of Tristan's paternity lawsuit came to light, fans couldn't believe he joked about Kim becoming his future lawyer.
"Lmao delete, please," quipped one new Instagram comment.
Another Instagram user joked: "You need to find new legal representation asap."
In response to the caption, one person chipped in: "You'll need a lawyer my dude."
And a someone else wrote: "Well this picture didn’t age well."
While one Instagram account added: "She will put you in jail for what u did to her sis".
After Tristan was confirmed as the father of Maralee's child, he publicly apologised to Khloe on Instagram, whom he shares three-year-old daughter True with.
“Today paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” Tristan’s Instagram Story read.
“I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.
“I sincerely apologise to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”
Tristan continued: “Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.
“You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.
"I have the upmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."
Khloe has not yet responded publicly to Tristan's apology.
