Stacey Solomon has labelled herself a 'bad wife' as she took to her Instagram Stories to share her response to husband, Joe Swash's I'm A Celebrity return.

After much speculation he would be joining the spin-off ITV South Africas series, it was finally confirmed that Joe did film the series last year as he appeared on screens on Tuesday (2 May).

But as the former X-Factor contestant settled in to do her skincare routine and chat to her 5.6m followers in a pair of her own-brand Primark pyjamas, she had a confession to make.

It appears so much has happened since Joe entered the Kruger National Park last September for filming (like the couple's daughter, Belle, being born in February), the pair had completely forgotten he was going to be on it.

She started her story: "I'm going to sort myself out and get ready to watch Joe in the jungle.

"We're going to sit and watch it tonight in bed.

"I'll be honest with you - both of us forgot he was even in it, so we missed it yesterday," she admitted sheepishly.

"We're going to catch up today. He filmed it so long ago and we've both got baby brain right now and completely forgot about it."

She ended the catch up: "Now I'm going to watch Joe in the jungle. Hopefully he's doing a really awful trial. I'm a bad wife."

Making his entrance into South African bush, Joe was joined by fellow former Albert Square resident, Dean Gaffney, in a trial split over two nights.

The pair were secretly ushered on set and reunited with hosts, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, for a 'Flipping Disgusting' drinking trial.

The aim was to win treats and get on the best side of their new campmates which saw them down 'disgusting concoctions', including blended cow vagina and maggots in a bid to become the newly coined I'm A Celebrity 'Legend'.

Joe won the show in 2008 and Stacey won in 2010.

The pair met after her win when he was presenting the spin off show, and the future spouses become good friends.

Joe, 41, married 33-year-old Stacey last year at their Essex home.

The pair have three children Rex, three, Rose, one and baby Belle.

Joe also has teenage son, Harry, while Stacey is mum to her older sons Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships.

"I’m A Celebrity holds a big place in my heart,” Joe told the Mirror.

“I won it and I was lucky enough to go on to present the spin-off series on ITV2 for ten years. I met Stacey whilst I was out in Australia and me and Stacey have now married and we have had kids. Doing the all-stars series is closure. It finishes off the circle."

He added: "Stacey is over the moon about me doing it. The jungle holds a big part in both our hearts. Without the jungle, we wouldn’t have each other. In a way, we owe it to the jungle to say goodbye."
