Why Nick Cannon won’t stop having kids as he's set to welcome tenth child

Nick Cannon has announced his tenth child, while currently awaiting his ninth

Nick Cannon revealed why he won’t stop have children – and his answer may surprise you.

The 41-year-old announced this week that he's expecting his tenth child, this time with model Brittany Bell, while still awaiting the birth of his ninth child.

The actor shocked fans on Wednesday (24 August) when he posted a behind-the-scenes video from the maternity photoshoot with Brittany, accompanied by the caption: "Time Stopped and This Happened."

Nick's latest baby news comes just one month after he welcomed his eighth child with Bre Tiesi, 31, and as he awaits the birth of his ninth child, due in October, with Abby De La Rosa.

In the unexpected Insta post, Nick, 41, also added the hashtags "#Sunshine" and "#SonRISE", possibly hinting that he and Brittany, 34, are expecting a baby boy.

It's not clear how far along Brittany is, but judging by the admittedly stunning pregnancy shoot, she could easily be in her third trimester.

As part of the photoshoot, the pair were joined by their two children, son Golden, five, and daughter Powerful Queen, one.

Cannon is also dad to 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, who he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

He then welcomed twin sons Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa in 2021, and a son called Zen with Alyssa Scott. Tragically, the five-month-old passed away due to brain cancer in December 2021.

And as his brood continues to grow, Nick previously said he ‘wouldn’t be mad’ if he had 10 or even 12 kids.

During an interview on The Breakfast Club last year, the Wild 'n Out host said: “I always used to joke around and I was like, ‘I want the 12 as in the 12 tribes,' [referencing the 12 tribes of Israel].

“But if I got 10 to 12, I wouldn’t be mad at it.”

In the same chat, he explained that he’s learnt so much from being a father and reflected on the ‘energy’ he gets from his children.

Cannon added: “The beauty of fatherhood, man, when you really talk about the essence of living as a father, I’ve learnt so much just from my children. And it’s so amazing.

“And I really just love being around my kids and just that youthful energy. It feels like you get to relive every time.

“I’ve been through so much in my life — physically, mentally and spiritually — the best place that I find is the time that I spend with my kids and their energy. And to get as much of that as possible, to pass on all that I’ve lived into something else, that’s why I do it.”

And not to be outdone, the TV personality also stressed that none of his children were ‘accidents’ and each one was conceived ‘on purpose’.

He said on his radio show, Nick Cannon Mornings on Power 106, in July 2021: “I’m having these kids on purpose. It ain’t no accident!

“Trust me, there’s a lot of people I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t. The ones that got pregnant are the ones that was supposed to get pregnant.”

That’s that, then.
