Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband has had his world ‘turned on its ear’ in the wake of her untimely death at 54.

Presley, who was the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, died yesterday (Thursday 12 January), having been taken to hospital after suffering a full cardiac arrest.

In a statement confirming the star’s death, her mother Priscilla said: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known.

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Following the news of her death, musician Michael Lockwood - who was married to Presley between 2006 and 2016 - is now focusing on their twin daughters, 14-year-old Harper and Finley.

A statement shared with ET via his attorney Joe Yanny said: "Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her. It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way.

"Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now."

Yanny added that Lockwood's prayers are with Priscilla and the rest of the Presley family.

Presley was also previously married to Danny Keough – with whom she shared daughter Riley and late son Benjamin – between 1988 and 1994, Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, and Nicolas Cage for two years between 2002 and 2004.

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson, who spent time with the Presley family while working on Elviswhich saw Hanks play Colonel Tom Parker also said their hearts were ‘broken’ by the ‘shocking’ news.

“Tom and I had spent some time with the family during the Elvis movie promotional tour," Wilson said.

“Lisa was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation about the movie.

“She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad.

“She had her gorgeous daughters Finley and Harper with her who made us all laugh.

“She privately showed us her home, Graceland, and she made it feel like home to us. She was so gracious to us, Austin [Butler], Baz [Luhrmann], and guests.”
