Kelly Osbourne has decided not to breastfeed her baby and she has shared - and defended - her reason why.
Kelly, 37, first announced she is expecting her first child back in May with Slipknot musician Sid Wilson.
During an interview on this week’s episode of Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris, she opened up more about her pregancy and explained her decision to not breastfeed, sharing that her medication is not compatible.
“I have chosen to stay on my medication instead of breastfeeding and the judgment that I have received from my friends and also extended family is wild,” she shared.
In response to the people who said she may miss out on a bonding experience with her child, Kelly told the hosts: “I’m like, ‘Don’t you think I know that?’ What kind of mother am I gonna be if I start going backwards, if I start being self-destructive?
"It has to be what’s best for me, what’s gonna be the best for my baby. If I don’t do that, what kind of mother am I going to be?”
The former Fashion Police presenter said she has now learned she ‘can’t pay attention’ to other people’s opinions.
Kelly, who said she felt ‘really hormonal’, thanked her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, for their support and also described her pregnancy experience so far as being ‘one of the roughest, most weirdest, wildest’.
“I feel very blessed,” she gushed. “My parents have been so incredible, I feel forever indebted to them.”
The former singer also debuted her baby bump during Wednesday’s (28 September) episode.
'Come on out here, mom-to-be, Kelly Osbourne,' Jada said as she welcomed Kelly to the set. “Look at you”
Kelly wore her signature purple hair pulled back with a black headband and wore all black.
She first announced her pregnancy news in an adorable Instagram post with a picture of her baby’s sonogram.
“I know that I have been very quiet these past few months so I thought I would share with you all as to why… I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma," she wrote to her 2.5 million fans.
To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!"
Kelly and Sid confirmed their relationship by becoming Instagram official in January when the former Masked Singer contestant shared a picture of them together for Sid’s birthday.
