Former Love Island star Kaz Crossley has spoken out for first time after she was detained in Dubai.

The influencer, 28, was reportedly taken in for questioning on Monday (13 February) while in transit through Abu Dhabi airport on her way to Thailand.

Local authorities were said to be probing a two-year-old video of her being filmed at Dubai party in 2020, when a number of influencers flew to the city while the UK was in lockdown. Footage of the incident emerged on social media in late 2021.

However, the reality star's reps have stated that she was questioned to help officials with an inquiry not directly related to her.

Her reps have now confirmed that the Love Islander is free to leave the nation.

“Kaz has fully cooperated with officials and is free to continue her journey,” Crossley’s representatives said in a statement to The Sun.

“Kaz was travelling through Abu Dhabi on her way to Thailand, where she was stopped by UAE police and taken in for questioning in relation to a matter that is not directly related to her but officials felt she could assist in their enquiries."

Following her release, the TV star broke her silence on social media, while writing on her Instagram stories: "I am safe, that you for all your kind messages.

"I want to take some time to reflect before I comment on the past few days.

"Grateful for so much right now. We are so blessed..."

Tyla has contacted Crossley's representation for further comment.

Crossley's trip to Thailand comes after she opened a school, house and gym for children after raising £85,000.

Speaking to OK! about it last year, Crossley said: "I was in Thailand doing the two week quarantine because that was the rules to enter at the time and I had a really nice massive villa I was staying in," she began as she recalled her first trip to the area.

She continued: "I was by myself and I was watching their [Instagram] stories and I just felt guilty almost that I was staying in this amazing villa with a massive pool literally all to myself and I was watching these kids who literally had nothing.

"So I made the decision to go and visit them as soon as I was done with my quarantine."

Crossley was a contestant on season four of the 2018 series of Love Island, where she finished in third place.

Then in 2021, she returned to TV and starred in Celebrity Ex On The Beach.

The 28-year-old has since transitioned from television to become a social media influencer and business owner.
