Katherine Ryan Hits Back After Fans Claim Her Daughter Has 'Black Eye'

'Don't DM me, call the f**king police!'

Katherine Ryan has hit back at disturbing claims that her oldest child has two 'black eyes'.

The comedian, 38, was met with DMs after posting a Halloween-themed Instagram photo featuring her family as The Incredibles. Each member was dressed in a red suit and a black mask, and eagle-eyed users spotted some purple marks underneath her daughter's eye covering.

In a brutal Instagram video to her followers, Katherine dismantled claims that her daughter was hiding bruises on her face.

The stand-up star shares a baby with her husband, Bobby Kootstra. Her nine-year-old daughter, Violet, is from a previous relationship.

The majority of fans and followers found the festive snap adorable, with one Instagram user crowning the family 'Halloween winners'. Another said, 'incredible outfits for an incredible family'.

Some, however, drew attention to a much darker detail. These were addressed in Katherine's video.

"Some people commented, 'does Violet have black eyes?" the comic quoted. She stated that she responded to comments clarifying that makeup was responsible for the marks, but commenters were having none of it.

"They weren't happy with that answer so now I've got DMs", she said. Some of these allegedly included people asking "what's really wrong with Violet's eyes?".

The star's message came across loud and clear. "This is why I don't post photos of my child", she said. "If you actually think Violet has black eyes, call the f**king police!"

Katherine has historically been relatively quiet about her private life. She welcomed a new baby with husband Bobby in July, having only announced her pregnancy to the public two weeks prior.

She entered into a civil partnership with old flame Bobby Kootstra in December 2019.

The pair re-kindled their childhood relationship after the comedian travelled back to her native Canada to film an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? in 2018.
