ICYMI, the Oscars took a dramatic turn when Will walked on stage and 'slapped' Rock, after he made a G.I. Jane joke about Jada.
G.I. Jane is an action movie from 1997, where lead actress Demi Moore shaves her head. It seems Rock's joke was in reference to Jada's shaven style, after the 50-year-old recently opened up about her experience with alopecia.
Following the incident, fans have been taking to Twitter to make The Fresh Prince of Bel Air jokes - and everyone is quoting the same line from the iconic theme tune.
One person wrote: "If only there were precedent for what happens when Will Smith gets in one little fight. Truly we are in uncharted territory here."
While another said: "#WillSmith got in one little fight, now does he have to move to his Auntie and Uncle’s home in Bel Air I wonder???"
And a third added: "Will Smith got in one little fight and his mom got scared. Back to Bel Air he goes!"
"Will Smith about to move back to Bel-Air after one little fight and everyone got scared," a fourth commented.
Another wrote: "I just keep scrolling past all these Will Smith tweets and hearing in my head, 'I got in one little fight and my mom got scared. she said, you're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air'".
Will has since issued an apology for his behaviour over on Instagram, explaining his actions were "unacceptable and inexcusable".
Will's statement read: "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
He continued: "I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family.
"I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will."
