Dolph Lundgren’s 25-year-old girlfriend opens up about how she fell in love with the actor

Dolph Lundgren’s 25-year-old girlfriend opens up about how she fell in love with the actor

"I had no idea who he was"

'Age is just a number' is a phrase that can certainly be applied to Dolph Lundgren and his fiancée Emma Krokdal, with the pair finding love despite their 40-year age gap.

The 64-year-old actor - real name Hans Lundgren - is best known for his role as the Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.

And while he's had a few rocky relationships in the past, he's said to be very happy with the 25-year-old personal trainer.

So much so that they got engaged back in 2020, and while their wedding plans were put on hold due to Covid, they're hoping to tie the knot next year.

In an interview with journalist Kjersti Flaa, the happy couple opened up about their relationship, with Emma describing how she fell in love with the movie star.

"First time I met him he asked me if I knew a place he could box," she said, which isn't all that surprising given his background.

It was a seemingly uneventful exchange, with the 64-year-old explaining that he was going to be travelling for some time.

But when he returned to the US, they met up again and got chatting.

Emma admitted that she didn't know who he was, and only found out when a work colleague told her he's 'Swedish and into action and boxing'.

Dolph Lundgren first starred as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.

"I don't really watch boxing or action movies so I had no idea who he was," she said. But she soon found out after speaking to friends and giving him a quick Google.

However, Dolph explained that he likes it that way, saying: "I always had one foot outside of Hollywood... I think it's great Emma didn't know who I was. I found it kind of cute."

All that being said, she did know a couple of Dolph's pals - including Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

But when she finally got to meet them at a party, she joked that her friends found it more exciting than her.

Earlier on in the interview, Dolph said of their relationship: "It happened very gradually, so it never felt forced - or that we rushed into it."

As for whether the age gap is an obstacle, he explained: "When I met Emma I realised it would be a bit strange telling my daughters about her.

"But they are both very open and emotionally mature, and I have always been very open with them about everything."

The actor added: "They are happy when I am happy." And it looks like everyone in this case is happy with how things have turned out.
