Singer Cher has confirmed she’s in a relationship with a 36-year-old, having shut down any concerns about their romance on social media.
Cher, 76, was previously married to Sonny Bono until 1975, later tying the knot with Gregg Allman before divorcing in 1979.
Now she’s confirmed she’s happily dating music producer Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior.

The singer posted a photo of her new beau on Twitter, writing: “Alexander,” adding a love heart emoji.
Someone asked her if this was her ‘new man’, she replied with a loved-up emoji, going on to share more details with others in the comments, including confirmation that they had first met during Paris Fashion Week last month.
When a fan said that Edwards had better be treating her like the ‘queen’ she is, Cher replied: “LIKE A [crown emoji].”
However, some people expressed their concern for the star, claiming that they were worried about Edwards’ 'intentions’ given their age gap.
“It would be naïve not to question a 34-year-old's motives and intentions,” one said.
“Our girl is smart but they don’t say love is blind for no reason at all.”
Cher hit back: “Haven’t you got anything else 2 do? Let me explain... I don’t give a f**k what anyone thinks.”
Another worried Twitter user wrote: “I'm not sure how I feel about this. I've been a fan for so long that I'm immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I'm sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!!!”
Once again, Cher shut the trolls down instantly, saying: “As we All Know …I WASN'T BORN YESTERDAY, & What I Know For Sure… There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances… It’s WHO I Am.”
In another post, she added: “I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’ Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone. [sic]”
Edwards is the vice president of A&R at the Def Jam Recordings, which boasts a roster of musicians including Rihanna, Pusha T, Nas, Public Enemy and Justin Bieber.
He was previously in a relationship with model and Slut Walk activist Amber Rose, with whom he shares three-year-old son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.
After first being linked in 2018, the couple ended up splitting in 2021.
While some people weren’t so on board with the 40-year age difference between him and Cher, many fans simply said they were over the moon for the singer, with one saying: “Only Cher I love it.”
Agreeing, Cher responded: “Love doesn’t know math, it sees [red heart emojis]. Rinpoche told me ‘some ppl [sic] meet, others ‘recognise’.”
