Britney Spears speaks out for first time after reconciling with her mum Lynne

Britney Spears has revealed she has reconciled with her mum, Lynne Spears.
The pop music icon, 41, shared an Instagram post about her mum, 68, who came to visit her at her home after three years.
“My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after 3 years … it’s been such a long time … with family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds !!!” the ‘Toxic’ singer said.

The mum-of-two suggested that she was able to mend things with her mum by talking about the things she was unable to discuss in the past, adding that she feels ‘blessed’ and even suggested the pair go on a shopping spree.
“After being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT !!!” she continued.
“I love you so much !!! Psss… I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years !!! Let’s go shopping afterwards !!!”
Britney accompanied her caption with a throwback picture of herself as a child dressed as a ballerina.
Prior to their reconciliation, the pop star and her mum have had a complex relationship, following their falling out over Britney’s controversial conservatorship.
The singer was placed under a conservatorship from 2008 following a public mental health crisis.
In June 2021, Britney spoke remotely in court and called for the ‘abusive’ conservatorship to come to an end.
There had been heightened interest in both the singer’s personal and professional life after fans rallied for the end of the arrangement as part of the #FreeBritney movement.
While speaking in court, Britney criticised the way her family had treated her while under the conservatorship.
And days before the conservatorship came to an end in November 2021, Britney slammed her mum in an Instagram post, which she later deleted.
"Pssss my dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don't know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea !!!!" the post read. "I will never get those years back.
"She secretly ruined my life.”
While calling out her mum and former manager, Lou Taylor, Britney wrote: “So take your whole 'I have NO IDEA what's going on' attitude and go f--- yourself !!!! You know exactly what you did."
Lynne Spears was not present at her daughter’s wedding last year to fitness model and actor Sam Asghari in June last year, nor was Britney’s father Jamie Spears or her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
However, Britney publicly asked her mum out to grab a coffee in December 2022 in an Instagram post.
“Instagram doesn’t like posts of people revealing their bodies anymore so here’s a selfie of me in Mexico !!!” the post began. “Mom and Dad … I crossed the border and I made it !!! After no coffee for 15 years ☕️ … Mom we can go have coffee together now !!! I’m treated as an equal … let’s have coffee and talk about it !!!”
