Adam Peaty shares cryptic message after split as ex-girlfriend deletes her Instagram

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty shared a cryptic post about 'space' after announcing his split from girlfriend Eiri Munro.

The Olympic swimmer, who was partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones on the BBC dance competition, announced on Tuesday (August 23) that the couple had parted ways after three years together.

The sportsman confirmed their split on Instagram and publicly apologised for 'letting his partner down'.

He wrote: "Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways. We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, two of those with our gorgeous son George.

"Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now, that means ending our romantic relationship.

"I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years. Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.

"My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time, so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further."

Now in the wake of his post, the 27-year-old has raised eyebrows after he shared a faceless photo of him solo on a bike on his Instagram Story, and penned the word ‘space’ across it.

On Wednesday, Tyla reported how Munro, 23, had broken her silence after their shock split.

Mum-of-one Eiri, who shares two-year-old George with the athlete, took to her Instagram and admitted that the next chapter of her life was ‘going to be a difficult one’.

She told her followers: "The last three years have been so, so, amazing. Our little family have experienced so much laughter, love, and joy. You guys have been such a significant part of that.

"This next chapter of my life is surely going to be a difficult one. I would appreciate that people would refrain from commenting, speculating, or messaging.

"I have shared so much of my life, but for now, I am choosing privacy, and I hope that you will all respect that."

Munro last posted a picture with Peaty to her Instagram three days ago from their family holiday to Santorini, Greece, and captioned the post: "One more for the memories".

Last year, the former couple’s relationship came under scrutiny when viewers believed Peaty leaned in for a kiss with Strictly partner Katya Jones at the end of their dance, which the pair vehemently denied.

The three-time Olympic gold medal winner and Jones finished ninth on the series.
