The Nordmann Fir is grown in the Scottish Border and has soft rich-green needles, bushy branches and is almost scentless. However the best bit is that the lower branches have been removed so any decorations are placed high enough to be out of reach of your cat's paws.

Companies seem to be getting extra creative with their trees this year - retailer Hammacher Schlemmer is even selling a half tree, Against The Wall Christmas Tree, for anyone who doesn't have the time, energy or inclination to commit to 360-degree tree decoration.
Once sitting against a wall and styled with the deccies, ribbons or tinsel of your choosing, they're oh-so-festive - and appear as though they're magically popping out of the wall behind them.
