If you've ever felt the pain of walking downstairs and seeing that your cat has dismantled your Christmas tree one bauble at a time - or worse, toppled the whole thing over - then we have some news we think you might like.

Drum-roll, please: you can now buy cat-proof Christmas trees that are safe from the claws of even the most playful felines.

Never worry about your cat pulling down your decorations again (

The Nordmann Fir is grown in the Scottish Border and has soft rich-green needles, bushy branches and is almost scentless. However the best bit is that the lower branches have been removed so any decorations are placed high enough to be out of reach of your cat's paws.

That's one way to stop our cats eating all our precious tinsel.

Available in heights of seven and eight feet, the cat-proof Christmas tree is available at christmastrees.co.uk with prices starting from £129.99. Delivery is free though, so you'll save there.

The description on the website reads: "Your feline friend can be a delight for most of the year, but at Christmas those claws can be a menace. A tree lovingly decorated with family baubles and swinging tinsel will prove an irresistible temptation. That's why we've produced our cat-proof Christmas tree. So you can decorate your tree without stress, knowing your baubles are out of harm's way."

Companies seem to be getting extra creative with their trees this year - retailer Hammacher Schlemmer is even selling a half tree, Against The Wall Christmas Tree, for anyone who doesn't have the time, energy or inclination to commit to 360-degree tree decoration.

Once sitting against a wall and styled with the deccies, ribbons or tinsel of your choosing, they're oh-so-festive - and appear as though they're magically popping out of the wall behind them.

What will they think of next?
