It's the moment This Is Us fans have been anxiously waiting for. The final ever season of the hit family drama begins airing in the UK on 6th January, which means it's almost time to say goodbye to the Pearson family once and for all.

Watch the trailer below:

The new season, which will be available to watch on 6th January for UK fans (just two days after the US launch date of 4th January), is set to be extra emotional for fans, as they learn what’s in store for the Pearson siblings after season five ended with a very interesting flash forward.

Kevin (Justin Hartley) was working for a construction company called Big Three Construction, and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) was pictured in a magazine and helmed a “rising star.”

But the most shocking revelation was Kate (Chrissy Metz) marrying her boss Phillip (Chris Geere) after separating from her current hubby Toby (Chris Sullivan). We’re still shook.

This means Kate and Toby split at some point during the next five years within the show's time-jumping narrative.

Series creator and executive producer Dan Fogelman has promised fans that answers will be given on all the shocking revelations teased in the season five finale.

He told Deadline: “We’re all going to have to be patient, but they will get answered. It will be a slow burn, and it will be well worth it.”

Fogelman also teased how the show will tackle the five-year time jump. “It involves a lot of movement, a lot of travel, a lot of time jumping and we haven’t quite gotten to the filming of that yet. We’re bracing for impact a little bit right now,” he said.

NBC released a teaser featuring clips from the first two episodes from the new season. The Challenger, the episode that dropped today, is a nod to the very first episode from 2016 and will see the Pearson siblings celebrate their 41st birthday together.

The second episode, titled Lovebirds will follow Rebecca (Mandy Moore), Miguel (Jon Huertas) and Nicky (Griffin Dune) as they embark on a road trip.

And in related This Is Us news, UK fans won't have to wait long to see the new batch of episodes. Season six, and all previous seasons, is available to stream on Disney+ from today.

Episodes from the new season will be released after they are aired in the US.

New episodes of This Is Us will be available to stream on Disney+ in the UK from 6th January 2022.
