The Chase Viewers Praise The Beast For Kind Gesture Towards Blind Contestant

The Chase Viewers Praise The Beast For Kind Gesture Towards Blind Contestant

Mark Labbett kept things on a level playing field.

It was a particularly heartwarming episode of The Chase on Thursday, after one of the quizzers showed a sweet gesture towards one of the contestants.

Mark Labbett, who is also known as The Beast on the ITV teatime quiz show, took on four new contestants, who were looking to win a significant sum of cash.

You can watch the clip below.

One of the four hopefully quizzers was Annah, a partially blind contestant hoping to win her share of the jackpot prize.

But to make sure the playing field was level between himself and his adversary, Mark kept his eyes closed when host Bradley Walsh asked the questions.

It ensured that when answering his set of questions, Mark was unable to read them and had to rely on them being read out, like Anna did.

Taking to Twitter, fans of The Chase were quick to praise Mark for his generous gesture.

“Mark not looking at the questions against Annah. Touch of class,” said one fan.

“Love that @MarkLabbett was keeping his eyes closed for Annah’s questions - making it a level playing field with consummate respect and integrity shown by The Beast,” gushed a second.

A third smiled: “Maybe the Beast isn’t so beastly after all?”

It was a good day for the contestants in the most recent helping of The Chase.

The three contestants that got through to the final chase managed to steal £15,000 away from The Beast, winning a share of £5,000 each.

We love to see people actually win on The Chase.
