Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams has joined the cast of Hulu show, Only Murders in the Building. You can watch a trailer for the show below:

Jesse - best known for playing Dr Jackson Avery in Grey's Anatomy - will be joining the show for season three in a recurring role.

The actor, 41, will play a currently an unnamed documentarian with a 'particular interest in the case that Selena Gomez's Mabel Mora, Steve Martin's Charles Haden-Savage and Martin Short's Oliver Putnam are working on'.

The show follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime - and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one as they investigate the mysterious death of a neighbour within their Upper West Side apartment building.

While they suspect the neighbour has been murdered, they soon realise the killer could be among them and work to decipher who could be responsible.

Meanwhile, season two saw the team unveil the killer of Bunny Folger, but it didn't come without its difficulties, after the friends had to grapple with neighbours who all think they were responsible for her death.

Jesse, who played Dr Jackson Avery for 12 seasons in the popular medical drama seems to be super excited to take on the role.

"In the building with Absolute Comedy Legends," Williams wrote online. "Yeah. I want to go to there."

The actor will join Paul Rudd, who appeared in the finale of season two.

"Paul Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of season two as Ben Glenroy, is someone we clearly want to know more about," co-creator John Hoffman told Variety.

"And see in our upcoming season three — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!"

Season three is expected to premiere on Hulu and Disney+ at some point in 2023.

While season three's plot is largely being kept under wraps, it's expected that the show will pick up right where it left off, when Rudd's character died on stage during the opening night of Oliver's Broadway show.

It's believed the third season will focus on this death - with plenty of twists and turns along the way.

While there's no release date for season three just yet, it's expected to premiere on Hulu and Disney+ at some point in 2023.
