The line-up for I’m A Celebrity… South Africa has finally been announced and it's packed full of familiar faces.

The popular reality show is airing a special series this year, quite unlike any we’ve ever seen before - as everyone competing is someone who has already appeared in a previous series. You can see a trailer for the show here:

But if you think being put through their paces in the Australian jungle will make this new adventure a walk in the park, then think again, because ITV has promised the ‘challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving’. Ouch.

Announcing the new show, ITV said: "I'm A Celebrity...South Africa is a brand new show which sees the return of some of the most memorable campmates from I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in the brand new setting of South Africa.

"They survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before.

Former Coronation Street star Helen Flannigan is taking part.

"The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving.

"Whilst nodding back to the Australian jungle, I'm A Celebrity...South Africa is a uniquely different series so viewers can look forward to lots of unexpected twists and turns."

ITV has revealed the first nine contestants who will be flying out to South Africa to take on all manner of fiendish challenges and tuck into God knows what in the baking heat.

Not only that but for the first time ever, the show comes with an unusual twist: no public vote as the whole show has been pre-recorded.

Taking part in the new series is Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo, Helen Flanagan, Carol Vorderman, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, Phil Tufnell, Janice Dickinson and Shaun Ryder.

Supermodel Janice Dickinson will also appear.

Alongside these stars, ITV has teased ‘many more’ celebs will be taking part, and a new report in the Sun claims to know who.

For now, ITV is remaining tight-lipped and claims any other names linked to the show are purely speculation - but who doesn’t like a little rumour and speculation, eh?

Among those tipped to be heading to South Africa are 2008 winner and former host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here NOW! Joe Swash, alongside soap stars Dean Gaffney and Andrew Whyment - better known as Eastenders’ Robbie Jackson and Corrie’s Kirk.

Former Hearsay star and I’m A Celeb runner-up Myleene Klass is also rumoured to be taking part, as is 2017's winner Georgia Toffolo and famous fainter Gillian McKeith.

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa will air next month on ITV1 & ITVX.
