Good Morning Britain: Viewers Left In Shock As Susanna Reid Reveals Details Of Boris Johnson’s Last Appearance

With the ongoing furore around Partygate and the release of the Sue Gray report, it’s little surprise that Good Morning Britain wants to interview Boris Johnson.

However, Susanna Reid revealed that the prime minister just wasn’t too keen on featuring on the ITV news programme.

You can watch the video explaining why below.

Co-host Ed Balls was shocked at the revelation – but luckily, some savvy GMB viewers have a few suggestions of how to lure the Prime Minister onto the programme.

“You need to disguise your set as a hospital corridor/digger. He likes those..." snarked one early riser on Twitter.

Another added: “Well he did in fairness test out the new Staycool fridge for you live on air, just before the General Election,” referring to the time Johnson decided to hide in a fridge live on air instead of face former GMB presenter Piers Morgan.

Earlier this week, Johnson spoke to the government, apologising after the redacted Sue Gray report said there was a “failure of leadership” after a number of parties took place at 10 Downing Street during the strict lockdown period.

"I get it and I will fix it," he said in response to the report.

“This pandemic was hard for everyone. We asked people across this country to make the most extraordinary sacrifices, not to meet loved ones, not to visit relatives before they died, and I understand the anger that people feel," he said.

"But, Mr Speaker, it is not enough to say sorry. This is a moment when we must look at ourselves in the mirror and we must learn. And while the Metropolitan Police must yet complete their investigation - and that means there are no details of specific events in Sue Gray’s report - I, of course, accept Sue Gray’s general findings in full, and above all her recommendation that we must learn from these events and act now.”

You can read more about that here.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
