Anne-Marie became the most talked about musician at the 2022 Brit Awards on Tuesday evening after the singer tripped down stairs live on stage during her performance.

The 2002 singer has now spoken out about the fall and she had the most witty response to what could have been a very terrifying moment.

The pop hitmaker, originally from East Tilbury in Essex, had just started performing her top 10 smash hit Kiss My (Uh Oh) when she emerged from a giant red heart.

As she made her way down some steps, she tripped and fell to the ground after letting go of a dancer's hand.

But just like the queen of pop Madonna did at the 2015 ceremony after her own fall, the 30-year-old star quickly got back up and finished her performance.

The singer took to Twitter moments after the performance and tweeted and poked fun at her fall. "Didn’t need my left ankle anyway," the 30-year-old said.

The Voice coach received an outpouring of supportive messages, with many viewers congratulating her for carrying on like a pro as well as expressing their concern for her left ankle.

"Oh nooooo! Anne-Marie! She picked herself back up though for an incredible performance," said one viewer.

Another fan enthused: "Awh Anne-Marie looks so disappointed in herself. She did amazing though."

While another quipped: "the most iconic singers always falling at the brits first madonna and now anne marie wow."

Similarly, someone else wrote an urgent warning ahead of next year's ceremony. "Both @Madonna & @AnneMarie are total pros for carrying on after a malfunction, but can we make sure that there are no STEPS or CAPES at next years @BRITs."
