Amber Heard Discusses Future With Daughter

Amber spoke to the Today Show following the trial verdict.

Amber Heard has spoken out about what the future holds for her and her daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard.

You can watch the video below:

In her first interview since losing the defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard sat down with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie.

Previews of the interview - set to air in full on 17 June - have been shown on the Today Show and in one of the clips, Guthrie asks Heard about her daughter and whether she will speak to her about the events of the last few years when she's older.

"I get to be a mom, like full time, you know, where I'm not having to juggle calls with lawyers," she said.

"... I think, no matter what, it will mean something. I did the right thing, I did everything I could to stand up for myself and the truth."

Heard, 36, introduced baby Oonagh, in July 2021, revealing she was born a few months earlier in April that year.

"I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms," she wrote.

"I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.

"I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.

"My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life."

The defamation trial between Heard and Depp came to a head on 1 June, when the jury found that Heard did defame Depp on all three counts, in her op-ed for the Washington Post back in 2018.

Depp has been awarded $15 million in damages - $10m in compensatory damages and $5m in punitive damages.

While the jury ruled that Heard's defamation claims against Depp were not fully proven, they did however award $2 million in compensatory damages to Heard.

Heard recently responded to rumours that her role in Aquaman 2 was cut following the trial.

Following the verdict, a petition was started to remove her from the sequel, but she has slammed rumours that it was successful.

A spokesperson for the actress told TMZ: "The rumour mill continues as it has from Day One - inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane." You can read more on that here.
