A popular high street serum has been compared to a 'facelift in a bottle'.

When added after cleansing and toning but before moisturiser and SPF, using a serum can sometimes feel like an extra step that you simply don't have time for, but this cult product has well and truly won over fans who insist it's a beauty cupboard staple.

The Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense is £59 for 30ml.

Medik8's Hydr8 B5 Intense harnesses hyaluronic acid to replenish and revitalise the skin’s moisture levels. It promises to deliver 'clinically proven visible smoothing and plumping results within 24 hours' and leave your skin feeling 'smooth and soft'.

And it seems the experts at Beauty Affairs agree, with the e-tailer comparing it to 'a mini facelift in a bottle'.

The £59 ($72) product also claims to leave skin visibly plumper with improved volume after one week of use, ideal for anyone looking for a quick fix for tired skin.

The wonder serum has been praised as 'well worth the money'.

The Medik8 serum retails at £59 ($72) for 30ml, but fans insist it's 'well worth the money' for the results it delivers.

As well as hyaluronic acid to plump skin cells, it contains vitamin B5 to aid hydration, soy extract for firmer skin and saskatoon berry, a vitamin-rich plant with antioxidant properties.

One reviewer gushed: "I've used so many hyaluronic acid serums over the years but I wish [I'd] found this sooner! Feels so lovely going on, leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft and definitely noticed fine lines less visible. Well worth the money."

Another posted that it's become such a skincare essential she's repurchased it multiple times, as she shared: "I love this product! I used it twice a day and have bought this five times now".

"I received this as a gift at Christmas and now I’m repurchasing!" said another. "I have quite dry skin and this helped my skin to become super hydrated and feel plump. This is now a staple in my skincare routine."

Another posted that she uses it morning and night as an essential part of her skincare routine: "Absolutely love this product, I use every morning and evening and it leaves my skin hydrated, plump and glowing."

Another review adds that it works well with vitamin C products too, as they reviewed it: "Love this! I use it at night as I use [vitamin C] during the day and it leaves my skin soft and glowing."

Incorporating a serum into your skincare routine can help to lock in moisture as well as making the top layer of skin appear plumper and look brighter.
