A teenage girl has opened up about the shocking moment she caught her dad cheating on her mum with a heavily pregnant woman.

Now, as we all know, cheating is devastating for anyone involved, least of all if a person's child happens to be the one who finds out first.

The unnamed teenager, 16, took to Reddit to reveal that it all went down on an otherwise innocuous coffee shop visit where she saw her dad, 41, with a younger, heavily pregnant woman.

While this woman could have been anyone, and the teen initially assumed she was a colleague, she realised that there was more to what she was seeing when her dad stroked the woman's hair.

It was at this point that the teen began to film what she was seeing and proceeded to film her dad kissing the woman.

She was unable to be a bystander anymore and when she confronted her 'shocked' dad about the pregnant woman, he admitted that she was pregnant with his child.

The teen wrote: "I decided to confront my dad, I just said 'hey dad, what are you doing?'

"He looked shocked but then said: 'oh, just getting coffee with a friend.'

"I decided to be brave and said 'so you kiss all your friends like that?'

"I saw panic in his eyes and he quickly said 'don’t tell your mum.'

"I then asked if the baby was his. He said a quick 'yes' whilst not even looking at me.

"I just said 'wow you had at least around nine months to tell mum about your affair, yet you haven't, I'm really disappointed in you.' Then I left."

The teen said she couldn't 'believe' what her dad was doing and declared that her mum 'definitely deserves better.'

As if all this wasn't horrifying enough, the teen said her dad had lied about where he was that morning and told his wife, a nurse, that he had an early meeting that morning.

"I was going to text my mum right away but she works as a nurse and I didn't want to distract her from an important job," the thoughtful teen continued.

"I feel really bad for my mum, she told me this morning that my dad had an early morning meeting.

"I could see sadness in her eyes, when I asked what was wrong, she admitted to wishing he was home more to be with us."

The teen said that her mum was understandably devastated when she told her the truth after work.

She concluded the post, writing: "When I told my mum she was upset and cried for a while and wanted to be left alone.

"Then my dad came home with flowers to try and suck up.

"Long story short they yelled and argued a lot and now my mum and I are packed up going to my grandma's."

Needless to say, Reddit users flooded the post with supportive and sympathetic comments.

One read: "I just want to let you know that despite what your father will tell you, all of this is his fault, not yours.

"If your [mum] is heartbroken, it's his fault, not yours. If they get divorced, it's his fault, not yours."

A second added: "I am so sorry you have to witness and then go through this but from what you have written it seems that you are strong. Stay strong."

"Good job OP [Original Poster]," wrote a third. "You're really brave."
