Hinge Date Sends Woman Apple Pay Request After She Stopped Talking To Him

Imagine being this embarrassing.

Navigating the dating landscape is difficult at the best of times – but one woman showed just how maddening it can be.

Katlyn Phipps took to TikTok to share one of her dating disasters, and honestly we’ve been left baffled by how some men have the audacity.

You can watch the video below.

Naturally, Katlyn was not thrilled to be asked to cover $4 (a paltry £3) to cover her coffee date with the unnamed gentleman, and neither were the 252,000 people who watched her video confessional.

Taking to the comment section, people were quick to dub the man in question “pathetic” for requesting such a small amount of money from his date.

“Mans rock bottom if he’s requesting FOURS DOLLARS,” one person laughed.

“Apparently now we’re supposed to marry every guy that buys us dinner unless they don’t see a connection then they’re off the hook,” a second person said.

A third added: “I’d have sent him $8 and told him you were paying for his next dates coffee too.”

Meanwhile a fourth person said: “I would be EMBARRASSED to request $4”, and a fifth said: “Would've sent the 4 and said ‘sorry, guess I should've known you needed it more.’

Katlyn explained the date in more detail in a second TikTok video, saying after the pair matched on Hinge, they decided to go for a low-key coffee date.

“He offered to pay for the coffee, I did not ask him to,” she said.

“He kept wanting to see me, but I’ve been really busy.”

Showing her follow-up text, Katlyn explained that not only is she a full-time student with a full-time job, she is also nursing her sick mother at home.

“I will absolutely not apologise for putting my education and family before anyone else,” she wrote.

“I am sorry I am a busy person but it is what it is. I didn’t know I had to make a long term commitment after getting food with you once.

“I’m sorry that the lack of my presence has hurt your ego so bad that you felt the need to request $4 for a coffee.”

Well…that’s him told.
