One man will have a lot of making up to do after he left his wife stranded following a toilet break.

Any relationship will have some arguments from time-to-time. But usually, you'd like to think that these problems can be overcome, and forgiveness can come over time.

However, this man might find it difficult after he somehow managed to leave his wife on the side of the road.

The couple were driving at night when the man had to have a pitstop.

On Christmas Day, Boontom Chainmoon, 55, was driving through the night with his wife, Amnuay Chaimoon, 49.

According to Thai news site Matichon, the couple were driving to Maha Sarakham in Thailand on 25 December, when Boontom decided to pull over at the side of the road.

At 3am, Boontom insisted that he needed to go to the toilet, despite his wife asking him why he didn't just go to the gas station instead, as per Daily News.

But once they had stopped, Amnuay also decided to relieve herself and headed into the jungle for a bit of privacy.

However, she was shocked when she came back to find that the car and her husband had left without her, leaving her alone in the dark on the side of a road.

Amnuay was stranded in the middle of nowhere, with the nearest district over 12.4 miles away.

Feeling lost and frightened, Amnuay decided to walk to the district of Kabin Buri.

You are probably thinking, why she didn't just ring her husband to ask him to come back and pick her up?

Well unfortunately, it was reported that Amnuay left her phone in a bag that was left inside the car.

When she eventually arrived at the district of Kabin Buri at 5am, she went to the local police station.

However, the drama was not over for the night as Amnuay did not know her husband's phone number. Officers then tried her phone that was left in the car, but no one picked up - despite ringing over 20 times.

Authorities tried to get in contact with her relatives instead, before eventually getting hold of her husband at 8am.

At this point, Boontom was 100 miles in the Korat province, according to Thailand Posts English.

He was reportedly horrified with what he had done, and quickly turned around to go pick his wife up.

So how did he somehow forget her? Well, Boontom said that he didn't notice her absence because he thought she was sleeping in the backseat the whole time.

The couple are apparently on good terms though, with Amnuay jumping back into the car without any argument.
