Queen Camilla has revealed she’s previously encountered ‘teasing’ due to having an ‘obsession’ with a specific app.

The 76-year-old royal - who is the wife of King Charles III - was recently attending an event celebrating the National Literacy Trust.

For over 30 years, the London-based charity has worked with children and adults of all ages to provide the necessary literary skills to succeed and to instil the love of reading in all.

The former Duchess of Cornwall has been a patron of the charity since 2010 and generously elected to hold the 30th-anniversary celebrations in the sprawling gardens of Clarence House.

However, it was soon rearranged for an inside affair due to the UK capital suffering a dismal grey day.

Funnily enough, like most Brits, it seems Queen Camilla also enjoys moaning about the weather - with children’s author Francesca Simon claiming to have had a conversation with the senior royal about it.

The 69-year-old, who is famed for creating the Horrid Henry franchise, revealed she and the Queen had been ‘laughing’ together and bonding over their ‘mutual love’ for weather apps.

“She mentioned it was raining in France, where I’m meant to be today, and I said, ‘Yeah, I know’,” Francesca recounted.

“She said everybody teases her, because I’m also looking at the weather in various parts of the world, and she’s the same - so we were laughing at our mutual obsession.”

Furthermore, the literary icon claimed that the Queen’s support for the National Literacy Trust had been ‘invaluable’ and applauded her for the ‘commitment’ she showed to the cause.

Francesca added: “She turns up and puts her passion for reading, which is very genuine, behind it - so it’s really fun to have that kind of commitment that’s much more than skin deep.”

Interestingly Her Majesty’s bizarre weather app obsession isn’t the only reason she’s hit headlines recently.

Last month, she set social media alight after she was snapped visiting Christ Church C of E Primary School in Chelsea, South West London.

The royal engagement was to encourage a reading scheme at the educational institution and she reportedly said during the visit that stories would take the kids on ‘millions of adventures all over the world’.

Following the engagement, The Royal Family’s official Instagram account proudly uploaded an image of the Queen surrounded by a sea of schoolchildren.

The picture however has caused quite a stir, with one person writing: “Why did I think Camilla was on someone's shoulders?”

“Thought it was Glastonbury for a second,” typed a second.

Another said: “Surely I'm not the only one who saw her crowdsurfing at first glance?!”

It seems the most probable explanation for the photograph is that the Queen is perched on a chair while the children sit below her with their arms raised.

But it probably didn’t help that the children looked as if they were standing at an outdoor concert with their hands in the air.
