While celebrating Prince William's birthday, fans hope to witness the carefree side of the royal family, which they caught a glimpse of in last year's unofficial record-breaking photo.
The Prince of Wales is honouring his 43rd birthday today (21 June), and many are anticipating some candid pics of his family enjoying the special day.
William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, are usually captured looking poised and regal in photos of them conducting their royal duties.

But admirers found one particular picture extremely special.
Many believed that this family photo outshone any royal portrait of the heir to the throne, with claims that it broke an 'unofficial record'.
In this one specific snap, fans got to see into another side of the future King of England and his children, and they all shared their affection for seeing the family in such a way.

Although posted last year, supporters of the royals will hope to see a couple more moments like this during William's weekend celebrations.
Taken by Kate Middleton herself, the image depicts her three kids and her husband jumping over what appears to be a sand dune on the beach.
Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, are joined together with their father, holding hands as they all sport different expressions of enjoyment.

In January, the Princess of Wales announced she was in remission from her cancer after declaring she had finished treatment a few months prior.
Hopefully for the fans, this means Kate will be including some more of her photography on her social media in celebration of the Prince of Wales' birthday this year.
