Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem 'tense', according to a body language expert who has analysed their first joint public appearance together in nearly two months.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stood together looking straight into the camera as they promoted online safety for children

The clip of the two was shared at the Global Ministerial Conference on Violence Against Children in Colombia, but an expert has suggested that the pair's connection seemed slightly off.

Harry opened the video, saying: "We are at a crossroads where the urgency to reassess and redefine our approach to protecting children has become increasingly evident.

"While the necessity has always been apparent, it’s now time to translate that awareness into meaningful action."

Talking about their charity, Meghan added: "At the Archewell Foundation, we engage with young people, families and experts worldwide, learning about how every aspect of a child’s life — from their livelihood to their physical and mental well-being — now operates within an online economy that has both the power to shape and misshape our connections."

Neither were overly 'tactile' during the footage, which was picked up on by expert Darren Stanton.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, he said: "Meghan and Harry look a bit tense in the short segment we see.

"You can see an increased blink rate from the Duchess of Sussex. This doubles quite quickly, suggesting she is mindful of how she's coming across in this appearance."

He also noted: "While Harry and Meghan aren’t being particularly tactile, with no hand holding, they are still standing close together and putting on a unified front.

"There's a minimal distance between them. Their smiles are a bit cautious and they come across more stoic than usual here."

The expert commented that Meghan was careful not to 'exaggerate their emotions' either way during the video.

Speaking about the Prince's recent solo public appearances, he said: "Harry has been quite relaxed in recent appearances, such as at The Invictus Games, where we’ve seen him on his own."

Compared to the clip, he added: "Here, his face is red, his eyebrows are together, and he seems quite tense, which we can tell as his shoulders are up here.

"His facial expression is quite far removed from the Harry we’ve seen on his own in the past couple of months."
