Kate Middleton once revealed that the Royal Family 'teased' her due to one surprising habit that she had to learn to fix.
Now, the Princess of Wales is arguably one of the most popular members of the Royal Family but, ahead of receiving her title after marrying Prince William in 2011, it's clear that she didn't totally know the ropes when it came to public appearances.
While she seemingly nails such public official royal engagements now, it's clear that the mum-of-three took a little time to figure out how to conduct herself when assuming the royal title - something which apparently became somewhat of a running joke in the House of Windsor.

Kate opened up about the situation in an interview marking the late Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday where she revealed that her in-laws would 'tease' her about the habit, which she had to learn to correct over time.
Such a habit even manifested during her very first engagement with her grandmother-in-law.
"The most memorable engagement for me I suppose was an away day to Leicester and I went without William so I was rather apprehensive about that," Kate shared at the time.

"I think there is a real art to walkabouts, everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting so I think I've still got to learn a little bit more and pick up a few more tips I suppose."
With all that said, however, Kate praised that the late Queen was 'very supportive' that day and took the time to help show her the royal ropes.
"She was very supportive," the princess gushed. "The fact she took the time to make sure that I was happy and looked after for that particular occasion, which probably in everything that she's doing is a very small element, which just shows how caring she is, really."
Just a couple of years ago, Prince William seemed to gently signal for Kate to reign in her more talkative habits at a royal engagement.

At Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Saif's wedding in Jordan in 2023, most of the guests spoke to the newlyweds for around 10 seconds, while Kate was chatting to the princess for around a minute, the New York Post reports.
Now a minute isn't that long to stop and talk to someone, but Prince William was seen gesturing to Kate to bring her conversation to a close to keep the royal wedding moving.
Despite having her royal title for more than a decade, people often still refer to the princess by her maiden name 'Middleton'.

But why is this?
Well, PR expert Megan Boyle told the Express that it's likely due to the 'fairytale aspect' of her relationship with Prince William.
She explained: "Ultimately, we've always known Kate Middleton as Kate Middleton, and sometimes it's hard to break the habit.
"She's been in our lives for so many years now, that fans of the Royals have this almost parasocial relationship with her.

"Part of the appeal of Kate and William's relationship is the fairytale aspect: dating, engagement, then marriage to an actual prince - almost as if something similar could happen to us.
"It stands as a reminder that the name won over so many people in the first place; she's just a normal person like you and me - who just so happens to be a princess."
