Melania Trump is being praised online for her subtle gesture towards Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The First Lady, 55, and her husband, US President Donald Trump, welcomed the prince to Washington D.C. on Tuesday (18 November) for a meeting to strengthen ties between the United States and the Middle East.

Following political discussions, the Republican leader described gave Saudi Arabia access to necessary military hardware as part of a defence collaboration and described the country as a 'major non-NATO ally'.

And things seem to be going well as during an Oval Office meeting with the prince by his side, Trump even commended the Saudi leader for strides made by the kingdom on human rights.

He said: "I’m very proud of the job he’s done. What’s he done is incredible in terms of human rights and everything else."

Trump announced plans for advanced F-35 fighter jets to be sold to Saudi Arabia after the country promised major investment pledges into the US in areas such as AI, civil nuclear energy, and tech.

On top of this, there was also a black-tie dinner attended by Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr, on Tuesday evening (18 November), as well as other big names like Elon Musk and Tim Cook.

But as we say, although it was subtle, Melania made her own gesture towards the Saudi Crown Prince - and it was all to do with her outfit.

We all know the First Lady isn't afraid to push the boundaries when it comes to style, and fans are always keen to see what she's donning for all the high-profile attends she attends.

And this time was no different; for the luxurious state dinner, Melania opted for a jewel-green evening gown, which MailOnline have reported cost $3,350 and was designed by Elie Saab.

The strapless dress ruched in at the middle and included a slit at the front - however, it was the colour that really caught people's attention.

Melania's dress was a very similar colour to the Saudi flag, which people quickly picked up on and pointed out on social media.

The national emblem of Saudi Arabia is also a symbol of two crossed swords with a palm tree above them, which fans thought the design of the gown matched.

One Twitter user wrote: "The First Lady @melaniatrump chose a beautiful green dress in the exact same shade as the Saudi flag, which stands for peace, and its design also matches the Kingdom’s emblem, the palm tree, which represents generosity and hospitality. Such a nice and respectful tribute to the Kingdom."

Others simply complimented Melania's outfit, writing: "Who else thinks First Lady Melania looks stunning tonight in this beautiful dress?" and "Melania looks gorgeous in her emerald green gown as POTUS and FLOTUS greet the Crown Prince."

Someone else agreed: "Melania rocking that emerald green gown tonight," while another person wrote: "Melania looks stunning in green! Wow!"

Meanwhile, another social media also picked up on the connection, writing: "First Lady Melania dazzled in a green Elie Saab dress inspired by the Saudi flag."
