They say, 'You are the creator of your own destiny' - and for Melania Trump, this couldn't be truer.

A resurfaced video of the 54-year-old first lady in her younger years has recently gone viral once again, with some viewers arguing it shows Melania predicting her own future.

Prior to marrying Republican politician Donald Trump in January 2005, the mother-of-one worked as an aspiring model, hailing from the small central European city of Novo Mesto, Slovenia (then known as Yugoslavia).

Interestingly, Melania was born Melanija Knavs - but, according to the Irish Star, made the decision to drop the 'J' from her first-name, and changed her surname to the German version (Knauss) when she was 16.

This was also around the time she began pursuing a career in modelling, and in the years that followed, she travelled around Europe for certain professional endeavours.

Biographer Mary Jordan wrote in her 2020 work The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, that, during this time, she signed with Milan based agency RVR Reclame, and lived temporarily in Paris.

Eventually, her initial success in the industry resulted in Melania moving to the United States in 1996 - and two years later, she met Trump (who is more than 20 years her senior) at a party.

As we say, however, Melania's rise to prosperity may not simply be a case of the being in the right place at the right time - or simply wedding the 'right' man.

No, no - you could instead argue that she manifested her fate, with one of her earliest professional gigs arguably mirroring her future in the global political spotlight.

This is seemingly the view taken by a batch of social media users, who recently viewed a particularly intriguing video of Melania in her twenties, which was unearthed by the Spanish-American television network Univision.

Take a look below:

The clip in question is understood to have aired on Slovenian television in 1993, as part of a commercial for a local clothing brand.

According to the Mail, producers of the advert told press at the time that a then 23-year-old Melania portrayed 'the first woman president of the United States on the day of her inauguration'.

The now-viral video shows the former model disembarking from an aeroplane, donning a lengthy trench coat, surrounded by several bodyguards in similarly beige outerwear.

Melania then shakes the hands of several officials, and speaks to a TV journalist, before being escorted into a vehicle and transported to an official residence - later doing her make-up in the backseat, whilst waving to crowds.

Upon her arrival at Slovenia's supposed equivalent of a White House - which the Mail claims was actually the library of the National University of Slovenia - she is then seeking taking an oath not dissimilar in appearance to the oath her husband took upon a Bible last week.

The president then signs several official documents, posing before a flag of the European Union.

As we say, though the video is over 30 years old - and Melania is now the proud mother of her 18-year-old son Barron, as well as the right-hand woman to the most powerful man in America - has sparked quite the discussion online.

Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), one user teased in the caption, 'Sometimes, destiny is written in the stars', referencing the fact Melania went on to tie the knot to a world leader.

"Interesting coincidence," another viewer noted.

"No, I had no idea!" a third confessed. "Is it destiny or something more tangible like a group of investors?"

Another wrote online: "Lol we will take that as a sign that it was meant to be".
