Kamala Harris issued ‘shockingly specific’ warning about Trump and Iran years ago

The 2019 caution from Harris has resurfaced online after Trump revealed the US had bombed Iran's nuclear bases over the weekend

People are just now realising that Kamala Harris issued a very ‘specific’ warning about Donald Trump and Iran all the way back in 2019.

For those who somehow missed the news, it was revealed on Sunday morning (22 June) that the 79-year-old US President had carried out a ‘successful’ bombing attack on three nuclear sites in Iran.

Putting out a statement to the world, he announced that bases in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan had been ‘completely and totally obliterated.’

America’s involvement comes amid the ongoing escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, which began after the former was attacked by the latter with missiles.

Before making the shock decision over the weekend, Trump set up a two-week deadline to decide whether or not to intervene in the ongoing political tensions, and Iranian officials even warned that America's involvement 'would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region.'

Another person who warned against this conflict, years before it happened, was Trump’s Democrat opponent in the last election, Kamala Harris.

A clip from 2019 has begun circulating on social media of Harris during an MSNBC interview where she spoke out against Trump’s decision to withdraw America from the Iran nuclear deal.

Known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, the plan saw world powers - Trump included - reach a landmark nuclear agreement with Iran.

It imposed restrictions on Iran’s civilian nuclear enrichment program in exchange for sanctions relief and was signed on July 14, 2015.

However, just two years later, Trump withdrew the US from the deal, which at the time made for one of the most significant foreign policy actions during his first term as president.

Commenting on the decision, Harris said during the interview: “Iran posed a real threat to the United States based on its nuclear capabilities and the negotiation of the JCPOA - and that Iran nuclear deal was a smart way to put a cap on that in terms of escalating the threat."

She went on to talk about how he was tweeting ‘implicit military threats’ at the time - which as we know, sounds all too familiar to what’s going on right now.

Talking about the Iran deal, the Democrat continued: “As far as I’m concerned, this president is motivated by his own personal insecurities more than he is our national security.

“If this president is thinking about putting us in a position where we’re in a war with Iran, the consequences will be absolutely unacceptable and tragic in terms of the young men and women who are soldiers, who would be sent and deployed into something that was completely avoidable.”

She continued: “If the Harris administration won we would not have gotten ourselves into this mess. I do not believe the current president of the United States is working in the best interest of the people of this country.

“I have good reason based on everything we know people to suspect and be concerned that his motivation is more out of self interest than it is the interest of the American people.

“I’m travelling our country and meeting with the families who are sending their sons and daughters to these endless wars.”

Harris eerily added: “And this president better take very seriously any threat that he makes to enter us into another war and send our young men and women into battle.”

The six-year old clip is doing the rounds on social media - and people are shocked by how ‘specifically’ it relates to today.

One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “2019. This was Kamala Harris talking about Trump wanting to get us into a war with Iran.

“The funny thing is, not only is it 100% valid still today, but I pulled this from a MAGA influencer’s (MAZE) post from last year, calling it bull****.”

Another wrote: “Kamala Harris warned us about Trump and Iran in shockingly specific detail. But sure, they’re the same.”

Others chimed in with: “She warned everyone!” and “Hmm. I guess she was right all along.”

“She called it 100% accurately!” penned someone else, with another Twitter user writing: “And it’s exactly where we are."
