New Madeleine McCann documentary shows disturbing ‘never-before-seen’ images

The new Channel 4 documentary about the Madeleine McCann case dropped this evening (7 May)

Earlier this evening, Channel 4 released a brand-new documentary about the Madeleine McCann investigation which showed disturbing ‘never-before-seen’ images.

Titled Madeleine McCann: The Unseen Evidence, the doc in question follows an investigation by The Sun into Madeleine's disappearance, which 'uncovers further evidence that could point towards the prime suspect's involvement in this unsolved crime'.

Within just the first few minutes of the doc starting, Channel 4 viewers were shown images found on a hard drive and USB sticks they believe belong to the prime suspect in the investigation, German national Christian Brueckner.

German prosecutors believe Brueckner, a convicted sex offender, killed the three-year-old after she vanished during the family holiday.

Brueckner is currently behind bars for the 2005 rape of an American woman in Praia da Luz, but was acquitted of all of these claims last year and could be released as early as September 2025.

Brueckner has denied involvement in her disappearance.

Disturbing unseen photos

In the doc, he was seen in an image depicting him wearing a mask with another image showing as many as 75 children's swimming costumes which were discovered on a hard drive found at a disused factory owned by Brueckner.

The Sun additionally reports that masks, unlicensed guns and ammunition, children’s toys, and bikes were found at Brueckner's hideaway, despite him having no children himself.

According to the outlet, the hard drive reportedly 'contains evidence she is dead'.

Just days before the latest news was released, Madeleine's parents posted on the official Find Madeleine website.

In a post, which was released over the weekend (3 May), they wrote: "As we arrive at the 18th anniversary of Madeleine’s abduction, we’d like to thank our faithful supporters once again for standing by us and never forgetting about Madeleine.

"The years appear to be passing even more quickly and whilst we have no significant news to share, our determination to 'leave no stone unturned' is unwavering. We will do our utmost to achieve this."

Kate and Gerry also took the opportunity to highlight the fact that May is also the month which includes International Missing Children’s Day (25 May), adding: "We continue to remember all missing children and their families, both here in the UK and abroad, thinking especially of all the children displaced from their homes & families in Ukraine & Gaza at this time.

"We’re very grateful to the UK Charity, Missing People for their ongoing, invaluable work, & to all organisations, charities and police forces who remain committed, despite many challenges and limited resources, to finding & bringing home the many missing and abducted children."

The parents rounded off the update sharing that May is also the month of Madeleine’s birthday - her 22nd this year.

"No matter how near or far she is, she continues to be right here with us, every day, but especially on her special day," the pair signed off. "We continue to 'celebrate' her as the very beautiful and unique person she is.

"We miss her."
