The doc, provisionally titled Ghislaine, is set to delve into the allegations surrounding Maxwell and her relationship with Epstein. It will feature new interviews with alleged victims, lawyers and investigators as well as Maxwell's siblings - some of whom are speaking publicly for the first time ever about their sister.

ITV explain: "Currently awaiting trial in a US jail, Ghislaine Maxwell strenuously denies her alleged involvement in the appalling crimes of which Jeffrey Epstein was accused, which have been blamed for ruining the lives of innocent girls.

"The scandal has raised vital questions about the rich and powerful at the most rarefied levels of society and this film aims to shed new light on what happened and the people at the centre, by speaking to those closest to events."

Presented by Ranvir Singh, ITV say the film will offer "new and revealing insight into Ghislaine Maxwell’s alleged crimes".

Maxwell has described her time in prison - the Metropolitan detention centre in Brooklyn - as a 'living hell'. She has claimed she is given food with maggots inside, and has been forced to stop showering due to 'creepy guards'.

In an interview with the Mail on Sunday - from her prison cell - she said: “I have been assaulted and abused for almost a year and a half.

“I have not had a nutritious meal in all that time. I haven’t slept without lights on – fluorescent lights that have damaged my eyes – or been allowed to sleep without constant interruptions.

“I am weak, I am frail. I have no stamina. I am tired. I don’t even have shoes which fit properly. They feed me rotten food. One apple had maggots in it. I have not been allowed to exercise.”

Maxwell is being held ahead of her trial, where she will face two counts of perjury and charges of conspiracy to entice minors, enticement of a minor, travelling to engage in illegal sex acts; conspiracy to transport minors and transportation of a minor, with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
