Instagram has now launched on iPad for the first time, and it’s got everyone saying the same thing.
It's difficult to come across someone in this day and age who doesn't have an Instagram account.
And, as we know, the über popular social media app has evolved way beyond heavily saturated selfies and #random hashtags - it's where many of us get our news, keep up to date with our loved ones, shop and even meet prospective romantic interests.
So, it's no surprise that everyone is keen to share their verdicts whenever Instagram announces a new feature, update or, in this case, its long-anticipated iPad launch.

Instagram's official announcement, which came out on Wednesday (3 September), read: "It’s finally here! Introducing Instagram for iPad, designed for bigger screens."

It continued: "People have asked for this for a while, and we’ve taken the time to design an experience that optimises your favourite parts of Instagram for a bigger screen.
"When designing Instagram for iPad, we wanted to take advantage of the bigger screen to give people more features with fewer taps, while keeping it simple."

The announcement concluded: "We’ve made it easier to catch up on your messages and notifications with layouts that display both tabs. When you watch reels, you can expand the comments while the reel stays at full size, making it easy to catch up on the best reactions without missing a moment. It’s the Instagram you love, now with more space to play.
"Instagram for iPad is now rolling out globally on iPad models that support iPadOS 15.1 and later."
Now, Instagram first came about in 2010, and it's taken over a decade and a half for it to finally land on iPad - something which has puzzled many online, given that they thought it was already a thing.

"Wasn't it before?" penned one X user.
A second similarly questioned: "It wasn’t available before?"
"And, it only took 15 years!" quipped a third, while a fourth chimed in: "Wasn't it a thing a long time ago?"
A fifth piped up: "Thought it was already on there for iPad lol."

Another wondered: "So what have I been using this whole time..."
And a final X user responded: "People saying they have been using it the whole time. The current version is just the phone version stretched out to fit on the iPad. The new one is a dedicated one for iPad."
A welcomed change, indeed.
