Following the news that virtual reality platform Dectraland will be launching the 'first-ever' Metaverse Fashion Week, fashion moguls everywhere are keen to know when the showcase will take place, and which brands will be taking part.

The online platform is said to see brands showcasing digital fashion pieces on avatars who will be taking to the virtual catwalks.

So, here's all you need to know about the fashion industry's newest and most futuristic event on the calendar.

When is Metaverse Fashion Week 2022?

Metaverse Fashion Week 2022 is set to take place between 24th to 27th March.

Over the four-day fashion-forward event, Dectraland will be hosting a series of runway shows, afterparties and pop-up shops on the platform.

Which brands are doing Metaverse Fashion Week 2022?

Metaverse Fashion Week will see high-end designers like Paco Rabanne, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Ellie Saab and more taking to the virtual reality platform to showcase their virtual collections.

The fashion event will be kicked off with Selfridges opening its metaverse store, while Paco Rabanne and Victor Vasarely are set to give fashion moguls an 'immersive experience' with the opening.

Tommy Hilfiger will be selling items in its digital store as NFTs, but shoppers can also redeem them for 'physical products delivered straight to the customers' door', according to Boson Portal.

The site also explained that metaverse users 'will encounter floating 3D renders of signature styles, including the varsity jacket for men, the madras shirt for women and a unisex hoodie featuring the iconic Tommy Hilfiger logo'.

How do I get into the Metaverse Fashion Week 2022?

Unlike the coveted in-person fashion weeks like London, Paris, New York and Milan which are strictly invite-only, you'll be pleased to know that Metaverse Fashion Week is free and open to all.

To get into the metaverse, simply sign in or create an account on the internet-based platform, Dectraland.

However, if you're wishing to buy any pieces at the event, you'll need an Ethereum (a type of cryptocurrency) wallet in order to make purchases.Featured Image Credit: Republiqe
