Sometimes, interior design choices can look great when we picture them in our heads, but then in reality they seriously miss the mark.
At least, that's what happened when one person decided to spruce up their bedroom with a new duvet cover, only for it to end up looking more like a murder scene.

Dressing the bed with a white floral duvet cover and pillowcase set, it was clear that the intention was for a romantic, girly aesthetic.
But unfortunately the end result looked a little more like the site of a brutal killing, with red blood smudges scattered over the bed.

Taking to Twitter, one user, John Donoghue, wrote: "That awkward moment when you realise that your romantic new 'white with rose bud' bedding set makes your boudoir resemble a particularly gruesome crime scene..."
And the post has since gone viral, racking up over 7,000 'likes' from users who appreciated the awkward mishap.
"New bedding, yeah yeah. Own up, where have you buried her?," one person joked.
While another quipped: "Call CSI immediately!!!"

A third got in on the banter, too, jesting: "Never invite Dracula in".
While a fourth wrote: "Picture the scene! You've gone away without telling anyone. But on the day you're due back, your neighbour, worried you haven't been seen, peeks through the window to be met by that 'blood bath' of a bed!"
Yikes.
While the poor bed sheet-buyer obviously had good intentions, perhaps they would have been wiser to head to Dunelm, seeing as they've just released a new sausage dog bedroom range.
