An 11-year-old girl has been left orphaned following a horror crash which took the lives of her mum, dad, and two siblings.

Shane Roller, Shannen Morgan, and two of their daughters, Lillie and Rubie, died when their car collided with a motorbike on the A61 near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, yesterday (21 July).

The two people riding the motorbike, a man and a woman, also lost their lives in the tragic event.

The 11-year-old surviving child of Shane and Shannen wasn't in the car at the time of the collision.

Police are making urgent calls for witnesses.

Superintendent Alan Travis of West Yorkshire Police said: "This is an absolutely tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of six lives.

“Our thoughts go out to the families of those who have died who we are working with to provide support at this time.”

He added: "For the officers and emergency services that attended the scene, I would like to pass on my thanks to officers from West Yorkshire and also South Yorkshire who supported us, as well as West and South fire and rescue services and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service."

Emergency services were alerted to the road near the village of Newmillerdam, which is between Wakefield and Barnsley, after the crash took place around 3.54pm yesterday.

Tragically, all six fatalities were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 11-year-old girl who has lost her family has had a Gofundme page set up for her. At the time of writing, it has surpassed donations of £50,000.

The fundraiser page states: “Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers. We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for help. On 21st July 2024, a tragic car accident took the lives of [the girl's] entire family—her loving mum, dad, and two little sisters.

"At just 11 years old, [the girl] has lost her whole world in an instant."

It continues: "[The girl] is a bright and resilient young girl, known for her infectious smile and kind heart. Despite her unimaginable loss, she shows incredible strength every day. She loves football and playing outdoors.

"[The girl] is also a huge Taylor Swift fan and finds comfort in her music."

It concludes: "From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your kindness and support. In times like these, community and compassion can make all the difference. Let's come together to show [the girl] that she is not alone and that there is a world of people ready to support her."

Shane's brother, Callum Roller, wrote in a public post: "Today we lost two of our nieces my sister in law and my amazing brother in a car accident.

"I’m absolutely heartbroken I’m gonna miss all of you! It’s absolutely broken my heart and it’s absolutely broke both side of families! You all had a heart of gold and gonna miss you all like crazy!

"My heart goes out to Shannen's side of family and mine! We are all in absolute shock."
