Woman whose leggings flew off on treadmill says 'it is what it is' as she finally speaks out

The woman whose leggings flew off on the treadmill in a viral video has finally spoken out

The woman whose leggings flew off her body after tripping up on the treadmill has finally spoken out.

Alyssa Konkel's simple trip to the gym became much more of a public moment after a video of her pretty unfortunate mis-hap went viral.

The 26-year-old was exercising on the treadmill wearing a pink top and black gym leggings when both the gym and fashion gods decided to punish her.

All caught on camera, Alyssa suddenly tripped mid-run and desperately tried to cling to the moving treadmill's handles to stop herself from falling.

But as she held on, her leggings certainly didn't.

Alyssa regularly runs on the treadmill.

With her legs dangling below her, the spinning treadmill caught onto her leggings and stripped them dramatically all the way down to her ankles.

Thankfully for Alyssa's sake her underwear remained on but the camera caught her clinging on to the treadmill semi-naked.

She then tried to pull her betraying leggings back up but the speed of the treadmill flung her off, causing her to fall to the ground of the gym floor.

After leaving the gym 'so embarrassed', she did share the video to her own Instagram, softening the burns (but not the literal burns and scrapes) she suffered from the fall.

Alyssa's now spoken to FOX32 Chicago about the viral event where she explained her 'pretty bad' injuries have cleared and are 'almost healed'.

The young woman laughs as she says she actually 'asked the gym for the video' herself and after taking some time to think about it decided: "Let's see how many people will view my video."

Since she shared the clip on her Instagram on 25 May, it's racked up 190k views and has been shared across many social media platforms.

Alyssa says she's 'not at all' embarrassed by the video, as she says: "It is what it is, everyone has butts."

Alyssa has actually fell off the treadmill before.

The American woman even revealed it's not the first time this has happened to her on a treadmill.

"I was like 10-years-old, and I was running one again and I hit my chin. And then 10-years-later I'm running again and fling off and do the same thing, but my pants came off this time."

It's not completely put her off though, as she says she'll get back on the treadmill 'but not as fast'.

She also revealed that she realised the culprit for her trip: her shoe laces.

"When I slowed the video down, I saw that my shoe lace came untied and I think that's what saw me right off."

Alyssa isn't letting this halt her commitment to the gym, embracing her viral fame and definitely serving as a reminder to tie those shoe laces.
