Shannen Doherty has admitted her ‘life has been unknown for over a year' after sharing the ‘scary’ reality of battling stage four cancer.

Doherty has been open about her health journey after being diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in 2020.

In a recent update, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress said she had been left ‘exhausted’ after not knowing how much longer she would be undergoing treatment for.

Shannen’s treatment for the disease has been more aggressive as of recently, after finding out that the cancer had spread to her brain and bones.

In an episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Clear, she said: “It becomes very real in an incredibly different way, because I have no idea how long I'm gonna be on the chemo for.”

Shannen also opened up about the uncertainty that chemotherapy will bring for her.

She said: “It’s not something that I can predict. It's not something my doctors can predict. And it's scary.”

And cancer isn’t the only battle she is currently facing, as she is going through a divorce with her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko, who she split from in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage.

The 53-year-old said she feels as though she is ‘walking into the unknown’ with so much uncertainty surrounding her disease and the divorce.

Opening up about her ex-partner on the podcast, she continued: “Obviously, divorce is not easy, especially when you really loved someone. And I did love my husband.

“And when you get so hurt by their actions that you just feel betrayed and like a sucker, it's really hard.

“I just feel like my life has been unknown for over a year now, between divorce and cancer.”

But amidst all of the challenges she is facing, Shannen revealed that her battles have made her value the things that she feels matter in life.

In a different episode, she said: “I feel like a lot of clutter is out of my life now and things are much more clear and focused.

“I know what I want for myself, and I know how I want to wake up every morning. I just see things in a different light.

“My greatest memory is yet to come. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much.”
