Couple adopts stray cat who gate-crashed their wedding vows

The cat distribution team was working overtime on this one.

There are so many weird and wonderful wedding stories, but did you ever make a long-term commitment during the ceremony and it’s not to your partner?

Well, that’s what one couple did after their wedding vows were crashed by an unlikely source.

Cara and Matt shared a hilarious moment during their vows when a little fluffy friend decided to announce its presence at the most important time.

The scene shows the pair under an outdoor alter alongside bridesmaids, best men and the officiant.

But it isn’t long until you can spot the second one of the bridesmaids sees a cat hiding in the background and hilarity ensues.

The couple posted the video online to TikTok and wrote in the video exactly what was going on.

It began: “POV: A stray cat crashes your wedding”.

Only a few seconds into the clip, bridesmaid number one turned to look behind her after hearing soft meows in the distance, only to notice a little kitty perched on a tree stump.

Cara wrote: “Watch my bridesmaids start to lose it. You can hear her meowing through the whole thing.”

After the initial person lost her mind at the kitten, you can slowly see each other person up in front also notice the can and begin to laugh.

However, Cara remarked that ‘the two of us had no clue. All we noticed was everyone laughing during our vows, so I was kind of annoyed.’

But of course, it wasn’t long until she also heard it.

In the video, you can see Cara turning her head around to ask what was so funny during her vows, when someone explained that there is a cat nearby.

As self-confessed ‘huge cat people’, Cara and Matt were ecstatic and looked as though they were tempted to stop the vows just to get a hold of the cat.

Cara even noted that their ‘names together are Catt. We even had cat cake toppers. So, this was kind of crazy’.

The pair event felt as though it was ‘sign’.

But remarkably, the venue actually went out and caught her and that was the end of her life as a stray as the just-married couple immediately adopted her.

Naming her Daisy, the video shows a moment of bliss with the new cat and owner, and it’s the cutest story ever.

The couple posted the video to their TikTok channel which is named after their kitties, Gatsby and Daisy.

According to the pair, the addition of Daisy was the elusive 'Cat Distribution company', which is how cats find their ways to their prospective owners.

The pair captioned their video: “The cat distrubtion system was working overtime for this one!”

Of course, TikTok loved the development of the story and immediately took to the comments to share some jokes about the strange way they all came together.

Making light of the vow interruption, one person wrote: “She was saying HER vows”.

Another said: “You wouldn’t see me the rest of the wedding our dj would’ve announced ‘the bride found a cat’ and everyone would’ve been like ’yup we’re not gonna’”.

According to one person, there is a special meaning behind cats and weddings: “Kittens were wedding gifts many years ago in Scotland. They believed a cat in the home would keep the family together and is good luck”.

One commenter suggested that the cat had ulterior motives from the start: “She said i’m joining this family.”
