We're only a few days into 2024 and one of late astrologer Nostradamus' predictions has already come true.
The French astrologer might have made the predictions back in 1555, in his famous text Les Prophéties, but people believe this one is scarily accurate.

Nostradamus, who also goes by the nickname of 'the prophet of doom', wrote 942 verses in which he 'predicted' the future.
Believers are convinced he foresaw the 9/11 terrorist attacks in America, as well as 'the rise of Hitler'.
And now, his followers think that one particular prediction for 2024 is bang on.
“The dry Earth will become more parched and there will be great floods," he wrote.

Some believe this is in reference to the tragic earthquake that shook Japan on New Year's Day.
The earthquake hit the country's Western coast at around 4pm on 1 January, killing 48 people and triggering tsunamis.
Japan's prime minister Fumio Kishida has said that emergency crews were 'in a race against time' to search for victims believed to be trapped in the aftermath of the disaster.

Since the earthquake, around 200 tremors have been detected, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
It is reported that almost 31,800 people are currently in shelters with tens of thousands of homes destroyed.
The disasters across the globe aren't the only events to be predicted by the philosopher.
Nostradamus also believed there'll be trouble ahead for the royal family, specifically King Charles who will apparently be 'driven out by force' and replaced by 'one who will have no mark of a king'.

Some believe this is in reference to King Charles being forced to abdicate with Harry then taking over as opposed to William.
Blimey.
It doesn't stop there.

Apparently we could be welcoming a new pope, with Nostradamus writing: “Through the death of a very old Pontiff, a Roman of good age will be elected, of him it will be said that he weakens his see, but long will he sit and in biting activity.”
Currently, Pope Francis, 87, is head of the Catholic Church.
The philosopher has also predicted more conflict, specifically a 'naval battle', explaining that a ‘red adversary will become pale with fear, putting the great ocean in dread’.
Some think this could be in reference to China, but really that could be a bit of a stretch.
