One mum was left absolutely furious after her daughter was refused a slice of cake at a kids birthday party in public park.

The outraged mum's three-year-old tot was denied the birthday cake and she has since reopened the heated debate about the politics surrounding children's birthday parties.

Namely, whether she was being 'entitled' or whether the cake-deniers were simply 'messed up'.

The mum in question, Kat, took to TikTok to share the latest ordeal she faced navigating the ever-colourful world of parenting.

Kat began by stating the only people she had ever 'mum-shamed' were herself and her 'own mother'.

"But," she revealed, "one other mum is going to be added to the list."

She then asked her 10 million followers: "Am I entitled or was this messed up," before recalling the a short anecdote which clearly sent her west.

The mum explained she and her daughter were at their local park: "It was us and this birthday group right so literally just us and this birthday group.

"These kids are having a birthday party and she's playing [with] them for like what [an] half an hour, they're making friends - it was nice it was actually very cute."

The party group went from being 'welcoming' to refusing the little girl cake.

Kat continued, explaining that her daughter ended up being 'one of the group' as the birthday party crowd were 'welcoming her with open arms'.

However, everything took a turn when it was finally 'time to eat cake'.

"I see MK [her daughter], I see her intention of grabbing a piece of cake. So I walk over to make sure it's okay - as a formality," the mum explained.

"Honestly, I was like, obviously it's okay. It's cake. It's a massive cake. There's lots of leftover pieces," Kat added.

But, the mum was totally stunned when the other child's mum took the 'plate away' from her little girl and got 'down to her level' and said: "You cannot eat this cake."

According to Kat, the child's mum continued to tell her daughter: "This is not your birthday party. These are not your friends. Where's your mother?"

Ouch.

She captioned the video, which has since gone viral after clocking up over 10 million views: "No cake for me thanks, I’m full…of rage."

Over 50k people have since rushed to the comments to share their reactions to the story with one TikTok user writing: "What mum tells a little kid who made a new friend they can’t have cake?"

"The kind that didn’t invite her to the party. They aren’t new friends," hit back another. "Every day my kid plays with a new kid in the park. They're not friends."

A third claimed: "If ANYTHING I’d say 'Let’s ask your mummy first make sure it’s ok?!' But NO?! And then the 'Where’s your mother?!'"

A fourth pointed out: "There’s always so much left over cake WHAT."

"How wild. Who does that to a young child. So cruel!!" penned a final TikTok user.

Where do you stand on the cake conundrum?
