Mum ‘addicted to tattoos’ says she can’t get a job

Mum ‘addicted to tattoos’ says she can’t get a job

The mum estimates she gets about three tattoos a week

A mum has claimed she's struggling to find a job due to the sheer amount of tattoos she has covering her skin.

Melissa Sloan, 45, started getting inked at the age of 20, and says she has been 'addicted' to it ever since.

The Wales native estimates that she gets approximately three tattoos per week, and even carries a tattoo gun around with her when she goes out, should the need for another one occur.

Melissa first started getting tattoos at age 20.

Some of Melissa's tattoos include spider webs, Playboy bunny symbols, marijuana leaves, roses, and the England flag - to name a few.

Most of the bold designs have been done by her boyfriend in their own home, which explains how she's been managing to find the time for so many.

"I have three tattoos a week", she told The Daily Star.

"It’s like when you have a fag or a drink, you get addicted. I can’t stop it now, it's addictive, for me anyway. I just can’t stop it.

"I carry the [tattoo] gun around with me in the boot, I’ll get one in the car or anywhere.

“My boyfriend does them, he does my tattoos prison style."

However, as much as she loves her collection of tattoos, they've given her some trouble when it comes to certain aspects of her life - namely, getting a job.

"I can’t get a job. They won’t have me", she admitted.

In the past, when Melissa has applied for jobs, she's allegedly been told by potential employers that her appearance would be a 'problem'.

"I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live and they won’t have me because of my tattoos.

“The first job I had was cleaning ages ago, cleaning toilets. People have said I have never have had a job in my life, I have had one once and it didn’t last long."

The mum added that, if someone gave her a job first thing in the morning, she 'would take that offer.'

Despite the awkward life hurdle, Melissa is still more than happy with the gallery of tattoos she's built up over the years, and doesn't care what people think of her eccentric look.

"I expected this in life", she said. "I can’t fit in with people as I like to be me and I’m always going to be myself.

"They don’t have to listen to me. But I’m not going anywhere."
