Man called 'cruel and immature' after mocking wife's traumatic birth

He publicly humiliated her at a family party.

It's no secret that childbirth is one of the most painful things a woman can go through, but unfortunately, one man had very little sympathy for his wife.

He was actually so unsympathetic that he mocked her - an act made all the worse by the fact that she'd undergone a particularly traumatic birth.

Another woman's partner left the hospital to get his phone fixed while she was in labour:

The mum took to Reddit to explain how it all went down, revealing that she blew up when he joked about what she'd gone through in front of his family.

She made the post in the website's Am I the A**hole subreddit, where users seek a second opinion on their moral quandaries.

The woman, 25, wrote: "My experience was pretty traumatic and since it was my first, I had no clue what to expect."

She said that while her mother was with her for some of the labour, she was eventually just accompanied by her husband when 'I did something so embarrassing in the delivery room'.

"I pooped myself which was unexpected and just... I don't know but it was embarrassing and although my medical team were very professional about it, my husband couldn't help himself and started laughing about it later," she revealed.

The first-time mum said that he told her family about the incident, but they 'didn't find it funny', and she asked him to stop bringing it up.

As well as revealing the private moment without her consent, she said her husband began to joke about getting her nappies for her 'opsies!!'.

"It got really tiring and chipped away from my self esteem and confidence," she said.

However, despite her asking him to stop, her husband couldn't help but joke about the incident again at a party a few weeks later when she went to the bathroom.

"He made a quick remark and said 'oh yeah, you should go quickly because we don't want any accidents just like the one we had at the hospital, you know what I mean?'"

Horrifyingly, the man's family proceeded to laugh and her brother-in-law said: 'good one!'

"I was astonished and so angry and ashamed," she said. "I literally just lost it on him and yelled at the top of my lungs calling him a cruel, insensitive jerk to be using the difficult experience of birthing his child as a joking matter and humiliating me in front of everybody."

The woman's husband was silent after this and stared at her as she 'stormed off'.

After they left the party, he 'snapped' and said that she shouldn't have spoken to him like that in front of his family.

He said she should have 'sucked it up and waited til we got home so we could address this privately and I could even yell at him as long as I wanted.'

As far as the man was concerned, he was now 'humiliated', and the woman was left asking Redditors if she had overreacted.

The man said he felt humiliated by his wife.

But the internet had her back and agreed unanimously that she had not overreacted.

"What a cruel and immature joke to make, ask him to push a watermelon out his dick and see if he can do it without any 'embarrassing accidents'," wrote one reader.

"If you had addressed this in private he would've said the same thing: you're emotional and overreacting. He did it in front of his parents and family to corner you. This behaviour needs to get nipped ASAP."

"Pooping during labour is natural and expected by the doctors/midwives, that’s why they don't bat an eyelid when it happens," wrote a second.

"Your husband is definitely TA and needs to grow the hell up and understand that you and your body have been through a traumatic experience. He should be supporting you, not bringing you down."

"You absolutely did not overreact," declared a third. "Your husband is an idiot. An insensitive, immature one. Most women I know pooped themselves during birth. Your husband needs to grow up."

What do you think?
