iPhone users feeling extremely old after Apple makes ‘vintage’ announcement

Time really does fly...

We all love a bit of nostalgia.

Whether it's watching reruns of your favourite childhood TV show, stumbling upon a pair of retro jeans in a second-hand shop or even indulging in some aged vino - it's clear a blast from the past can be very welcomed at times.

However, sometimes it can make us feel 'prehistoric' which seems to be exactly the case for iPhone users across the globe who have been left feeling extremely old following Apple's 'vintage' announcement.

According to Apple's support page, there are a list of products which are considered 'vintage' by the tech giant.

iPhones include: iPhone 4 (8 GB), iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s (32 GB), iPhone 6s Plus (32 GB), iPhone SE, iPhone 8 Red and iPhone 8 Plus Red.

But, believe me, there's a pretty extensive list spanning a bunch of Macs, iPads, Beats, Apple Watches and, of course, iPods.

Apple's website reads: "Products are considered vintage when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 and less than 7 years ago."

Now, while there are no official guidelines, the term 'vintage' is commonly used to describe things that are at least 20 years old.

So, think: the formation of Blink-182 (1992), the iconic Nokia 3310 (2000), Maroon 5's Songs About Jane album (2002), the first Shrek movie (2001), the infamous Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck split (2003) and even Mean Girls (2004).

However, you would never have expected high-spec tech like an iPhone from 2017 would ever be included in the rundown.

And it's clear people were pretty shocked by the news with many rushing to social media to share their reactions.

One X user penned: "If those are vintage, then we all must be prehistoric," as a second wondered: "If iPhone X is vintage then what is my iPhone 7 Plus? Ancient??"

"If those are vintage then what about the people who have the iPhone SE…?" echoed a third.

A fourth quipped: "SO IPHONE 11 IS ABOUT TO BE VINTAGE? Lemme go upgrade cus nuhuh."

"OMG MY AIRPODS ARE VINTAGE CAN I SELL THEM FOR MORE THAN THEY ARE WORTH NOW!?!?" joked a fifth.

Another jokingly piped up: "Then I'm a dinosaur."

And a final X user added: "It’s actually crazy to think that those items are vintage. Like I remember them coming out not too long ago, but in reality it’s been 7/8 years."

Wow, time really does fly.
