Woman upset after ordering birthday cake and receiving 'worst cake I’ve ever seen in my life'

She spent hundreds on it

We all love some proper good birthday cake.

Out of the party favours, free-flowing booze and snacks - we can all agree that a slice - or three - of cake is one of the best parts of any celebration.

However, that wasn't the case for one woman who was left beyond upset after ordering a birthday cake and receiving the 'worst cake' she had ever seen in her entire life. Have a look:

The woman, who goes by the handle @khrissyjoe1 online, took to TikTok to share with her six thousand followers a little more about the ordeal.

She told her followers the cake in question was supposed to be her granddaughter's first birthday cake.

"I spent well over $200 (around £150) on this cake and this is what I got," Khrissy added while panning to the hefty purchase.

The cake had different coloured icing for all four of its tiers starting with a piped golden brown layer coated in dark brown crumbs to mimic mud.

That was followed by piped pale pink tier and, from this point, the cake admittedly didn't look too bad.

But the third and fourth tiers are when things clearly took a turn for the worst.

The baker had seemingly just rolled out two large slabs of fondant icing, one pale blue and one white, and haphazardly moulded it around the cake for the final two tiers.

Oh yeah - and the entire thing was covered in fake plastic flowers and leaves along with some writing on the front.

The cake cost $200 (around £150).

"This is the worst cake I've ever seen in my life," Khrissy continued.

She went on: "When I told the woman that I was highly upset about it, because it looks horrible, she said, 'Well, I will admit it was a lot harder than what I thought it would be.'"

The woman also pointed out that the cake maker included fake plants which were supposed to be fondant.

And to make matters worse?

Khrissy claimed she even found a hair in the cake.

"I'm so upset," she concluded in the short clip.

The overlay text reiterated: "I was so upset!"

The video has since gone viral after clocking up more than 5.7 million views with thousands upon thousands of comments from people eager to share their opinions on the ghastly gateau.

One TikTok user hit out: "Ask for a refund. If she refuses dispute the charge with your bank."

"Holy moly!" exclaimed a fellow baker. "I’m a cake maker if it’s too hard then you say I’m sorry that’s not something I’m comfortable doing and give another option or pass."

"It looks like Play-Doh," joked a third.

A fourth sympathised: "Omg what??? Who did you that way? I’m so sorry."

"There are no words..." echoed another critic.

Many, however, seemed to be more shocked at the price-tag more so than the design itself.

One TikTok user penned: "For the cake you wanted, it would never cost only $200. Probably $1,500 or more."

"A four-tier cake being only $200 is insane to me… that would be at least double where I’m from," revealed a second.

A third chimed in: "My mum used to make custom cakes with fondant flowers and such. A cake like the one pictured would be well over $1,000."

And, in a surprising turn of events, some people even liked the cake with one fan admitting: "I’d still eat it."

"Why do I kinda like it?" asked a second while a third claimed it 'looks good'.

What do you make of it?
